Born in Jönköping, Sweden, Carl Gustaf Holmstrom (1869-1949) emigrated to Decker, Texas in 1888. A farmer and miller by profession, Holmstrom spent two years in Austin working as a farm laborer before moving to Williamson County, where he worked as a tenant farmer for twelve years. In 1905, he bought a farm in Jonah on the San Gabriel River. Holmstrom and his wife, Anna Sofia Fröjd (1872-1940), whom he married in 1894, had six children born in Texas. Source: ...
